Leaf was formed in the garage of Tommy Mason in seminole Florida way back in the summer of 2005. Initially a four piece jam band named "onsol", this group which was the brainchild of guitarist vocalist Tommy Mason, morphed three times before settling into what it has become. A two piece three piece band fully powered by the sun. JD and Tommy make up the lineup now and using drum loops and basic creative desperation, they achieve a sound complex enough to be compared to full bands.
Leaf is a modern musical hybrid. Imagine taking all the organic licks and jam theory of bands like Phish and The Grateful Dead, and mixing that with the simple yet complex theory of Beck and Keller Williams, and sprinkle some house and dj beats. Do all that and you have LEAF. So it's basically one part Phish, one part Grateful Dead, one part Yellowman, and one part DJ. And we are adding more parts all the time.
Solar jamming is a new concept. Both for us, and for the rest of the world. It has been done, but not enough. I mean musicians should be the first ones to go solar. I mean music is truth, and light is the ultimate truth.
Leafjam and Leafjam.com have become hubs for this energy. As this energy grows it will become more and more obvious, ultimately exploding into a mushroom cloud of solar energy awareness and use. Transferring Light into sound
